30 Minute Dinner Rolls…. Say what? Ok, if you can avoid kid interruptions, they really are 30 minute dinner rolls. It takes 30 to get them in the oven and 10 to cook. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law who got it online somewhere and I’ve altered it. If you are behind this genius ingenuity PLEASE take credit.
In mixer with dough hook. (Bosch or KitchenAid) Or you can hand knead too! Don’t let lack of modern invention stop you.
1 Cup warm water 110-120 degrees
1 ¼ Tbs active dry yeast
¼ cup honey
Mix together and let proof 10 minutes while you ready the rest.
In bowl, combine:
1/3 cup oil (I use olive)
¼ tsp celtic sea salt
Add to yeast mix once proofed.
Add 3-6 Cups flour. I use fresh ground spelt so it usually takes more for me to reach happy elastic dough status.
Heat oven to 400 and let dough rest 10 minutes.
Shape dough into balls slightly smaller than you would like your dinner rolls to be. Place on greased cookie sheet or in greased pan (I like coconut oil spray) and pop in oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Remove, let cool, butter an enjoy! My husband loves these especially with strawberry jam!
